Another big week in the play-to-earn space. The big headline is for sure the release of the Sandbox Alpha Season 2. The Sandbox is now open to anyone for free! So if you haven’t already, go check it out and complete the quests to earn rewards.

And let’s finish with the ugly… The Pixelmon NFTs reveal… Not only the buyers were fooled, but the whole NFT gaming ecosystem is getting some more bad press… Well, at least it produced some funny memes and it reminds the community to do proper research before investing large amounts of money in dodgy projects. Sid Meier himself warns game developers about the risk of putting monetization before building fun and original gameplays.

Sid Meier’s Take on NFT Gaming – Put the Gameplay First

While NFT games have become extremely popular in the past year, many traditional gamers expressed their concerns about the addition of NFTs in their games. Pixelmon’s Big Reveal Turned Into a Big Fail

Pixelmon completed its first pre-sale of NFTs on February 7th. The sale took place in a dutch auction with a starting price of 3 ETH. Pixelmon managed to sell 7,750 NFTs for a total of approximately 22,475 ETH or the equivalent of $70 million. The sale lasted less than 30 minutes.  — Read more
