Blockchain gaming arguably had one of its biggest weeks ever, as various new projects were announced, tokens were dropped and new products hit the market. In addition Ubisoft and Electronic Arts are taking notice, as they announced that play-to-earn gaming is the future of the industry. These companies are already recruiting, perhaps even building, so we can expect big things to happen in 2022 and beyond. Play-to-earn doesn’t end with Axie Infinity, it’s just beginning. However, we do need to keep in mind that the metaverse is open, inclusive. As a community we should not accept walled gardens, because play-to-earn gaming can only thrive on open economies.
